Check EE coverage
Before ordering, please check that the care home or sheltered accommodation address has good EE mobile coverage. For the best experience, we recommend an Excellent indoor coverage rating. The EE checker is a guide and cannot guarantee service inside every room.
Choose from a basic Marbella corded phone, Maxcom MM39D, Geemarc CL9000 GSM desk phone, or Geemarc Liberty 200 cordless handset. The Liberty 200 is ideal where the router needs to be placed by a window for the best signal while the handset stays near the resident.
⚙
We prepare the kit
Your SIM, router or GSM handset package is configured, prepared and tested before dispatch. If a resident is transferring an existing home or mobile number, we will confirm the transfer date.

The number moves over
In 99% of cases, we can transfer an existing home telephone number to Home2Phone. We can also move an existing mobile number onto the same SIM, allowing calls to both numbers on one service.

FirstCall Call Screening Service
FirstCall is our optional call screening service, designed to give residents extra protection from nuisance and scam calls without making the phone difficult to use.
Unknown callers are asked to state their name before the call is put through, helping the resident decide whether to accept the call. This can be especially useful for elderly and vulnerable customers.
Not AI poweredUses simple clear prompts, not artificial conversations.

Learn more about FirstCall
These extra details explain how FirstCall handles unknown callers, trusted numbers, blocked numbers and secure PIN access.
How FirstCall works
When someone calls, FirstCall asks the caller to state their name before the call is put through. The resident then hears who is calling and can choose whether to accept the call.
Whitelisted numbers
The Whitelist is for family, friends, neighbours, carers and other trusted callers. When someone calls from a number on the Whitelist, they are connected straight through without screening.
Blacklisted numbers
The Blacklist is for numbers the resident does not want to hear from again. If a blacklisted number calls, the call is ended automatically and the telephone will not ring.
Secure PIN override for trusted organisations
FirstCall includes a secure PIN Override feature for trusted organisations such as hospitals, GP surgeries, district nurses and healthcare professionals who may call from withheld numbers or many different departments. A trusted caller can enter the PIN followed by the # key during the welcome message to be connected without recording their name.
For security reasons, the PIN Override feature is not mentioned in the FirstCall welcome message or call prompts.

Important information
Please read before ordering for a care home resident
Home2Phone is a mobile-based phone service and landline replacement, but it does have important limitations that residents, families and care providers should understand before ordering.
Care alarms
Home2Phone is not suitable or recommended for monitored care alarms, monitored medical devices or life-critical equipment. If a care alarm is independent and does not need a telephone line, Home2Phone can still be used separately.
Mobile coverage
The service operates only over the EE mobile network. Call quality and reliability depend on mobile signal, local coverage, network congestion and the building layout.
Power cuts
The CL2100 router includes an internal battery, but mains-powered handsets, cordless bases and other equipment need their own backup power if they must work during a power cut.

Yes, Home2Phone can be suitable for residents who need a simple telephone service and do not require the phone line for monitored alarms, monitored medical equipment or life-critical systems.
Can a resident keep their existing home telephone number?
In many cases, yes. We can usually transfer an existing home telephone number to Home2Phone, subject to provider porting agreements and acceptance by the losing provider.

✅ Mobile Coverage and Service limitations
Hom2Phone is a mobile-based telephone solution that uses the EE mobile network
Home2Phone operates solely over the EE mobile network. Although the service allows a standard telephone handset to be connected to a 4G router, or used in a GSM phone it remains a mobile-based solution and is not a like-for-like replacement for a fixed digital landline. Performance is dependent on mobile network conditions, including signal strength, local coverage, environmental interference, and network congestion. As a result, users may encounter call quality issues, intermittent service, or dropped calls, common limitations inherent to all mobile services. Mobile network performance, including coverage, is controlled entirely by EE and is outside of our control.
Please note - that we do not recommend relying on this service for a Care Alarm. Although we do have customers who use Care Alarms with this service, this is done entirely at your own risk.
For Care Alarm systems, we strongly recommend using a fixed digital line service, which is more suitable and reliable for this purpose. Please contact our team for more information on fixed digital lines.
