Low Cost Phone Service For The ElderlyHome2Phone - Move your home number to one of our 4G mobile servicesPerfect replacement to your copper telephone line and protects you from ever losing your telephone number - Home2PhoneLow-Cost Phone Service for the Elderly - Unlike most other providers, the Home2Phone service is not a call divert system. Instead, it offers a smart and flexible alternative to a traditional landline. With Home2Phone, your existing home phone number is transferred to a special EE SIM card, which can be used in either a GSM phone or a 4G router.
We offer two options:
1. Desktop cordless GSM handset – a simple, easy-to-use phone. 2. 4G home package – a Geemarc Liberty 200 DECT cordless phone that plugs directly into a 4G router, ready to make and receive calls. Keeping your home numberFor many people, especially seniors, keeping the same home phone number is important. Home2Phone makes this possible without the need for a mobile phone or app. Calls are routed over the reliable EE 4G network at a highly competitive rate, making it an ideal and affordable digital replacement for a traditional landline. And you get to keep your home telephone number, thats displayed on all outbound calls. Switching to a mobile phone may not be a good idea long term Switching to use a mobile phone might seem like a smart move, but it may not be a good long-term solution. Not everyone finds mobile phones easy to use as time goes on. People can struggle with changing technology, forget to keep their phones charged, or even lose them. And if you disconnect your home number and later want to return to a fixed (digital) line, your number may no longer be available. Under Ofcom regulations, you only have 30 days after disconnection to reclaim your number, after that, it’s no longer possible.
Home2Phone is Ideal if you need a telephone line only in a Care Home 6 Reasons to choose Home2Phone 4G Telephone ServiceNo need to worry about power cuts – the phone and router has a built-in battery. The Maxcom GSM phone runs on a battery, while the 4G router includes a built-in backup battery to maintain service in the event of a power outage. This provides approximately 4 hours of usage and 10 hours of standby. Any other mains-powered equipment required to make or receive calls will need its own independent backup system to remain operational during a power cut. Home2Phone is specifically designed to offer an replacement to a old traditional landline with a special EE SIM. No mobile or App is required.Calls on the Home2Phone service are made over the EE mobile voice network, just like a normal mobile phone. There is no VoIP, no internet calling, no mobile data, and no apps involved. Because it uses EE’s mobile voice infrastructure, the service is highly reliable and not dependent on broadband or Wi-Fi. And you keep your home number. It’s more affordable for people to contact you, as they’re dialling a landline number rather than a mobile one.
Not everyone has a calls-included plan, so it can be more cost-effective for people to call you since they are calling your home landline number rather than a mobile number. However, the service also provides an underlying mobile number, which people can use to call you as well.
Your home landline number will always be displayed on outbound calls. Even though this is a SIM-based service, your home telephone number will always be displayed, not a mobile number. Anyone calling your home number will reach you just as they normally would. However, you do have the option to display the underlying mobile number instead on a per call basis, should you wish to do so. Never miss a call from your doctor, hospital, or loved ones again by keeping your landline number active.By keeping your home number and not switching entirely to a mobile phone, you’ll never have to notify anyone that your landline is disconnected. That means no more missed calls from your doctor, hospital, or loved ones. Home2Phone service has a free call blocking service - 1472To access the service, simply dial 1472. It is menu-driven, guiding you step by step on how to block numbers. When you first access it, the service will play the last inbound number and then give you the option to block it. You can also manually add other numbers to your block list at any time.

If you'd like to port your number back to us within this 36-month period, there will be a fee. Additionally, the telephone number must remain active and fully paid up until the transfer is complete to be eligible for porting to a new provider. Check you have signal - EE mobile signal check We recommend checking your EE mobile coverage beforehand. Home2Phone operates solely over the EE mobile network. Although the service allows a standard telephone handset to be connected to a 4G router, or used in a GSM phone it remains a mobile-based solution and is not a like-for-like replacement for a fixed digital landline. Performance is dependent on mobile network conditions, including signal strength, local coverage, environmental interference, and network congestion. As a result, users may encounter call quality issues, intermittent service, or dropped calls, common limitations inherent to all mobile services. Mobile network performance, including coverage, is controlled entirely by EE and is outside of our control.
Please note that we do not recommend relying on this service for a care alarm. We advise that a fixed digital line be used for all care alarm connections that require a telephone line to operate. If the care alarm is independent and does not require a telephone line to function, then the Home2Phone service can be used safely.
Fixed Line rentel for 12 months ΨΨ No Line Rental Increases for 12 Months - Pension Credit Tariff From the activation date, your line rental cost will remain fixed for 12 months. This does not include charges for data usage or any out-of-bundle services.
Each year on April 1st, the monthly cost of services may increase by the rate of inflation plus 3.9%, but only after the initial 12-month period has ended.
If your call plan changes during the 12-month period, the original timeframe continues, your 12-month price guarantee does not reset.

Option 2 - X1 Geemarc Liberty Cordless Handset & 4G Router Complete 4G Home Phone PackageFor seniors who prefer to use a traditional telephone handset The Geemarc X1 Liberty 200 cordless handset and Geemarc CL2000 4G router package provides a simple and reliable home phone solution without the need for a traditional landline. Our Home2Phone service is NOT a divert service like most others services Unlike most other services that offer to connect your landline to a mobile SIM, this is not a simple call-forwarding service where calls are just redirected to a mobile SIM. Instead, we provide you with a SIM card that has your home number directly on it. This means when you make calls, you can display your home number not a mobile number, something a standard call-forwarding service can’t offer. Some phone features may not be compatible with a mobile digital line.About mobile Broadband Speeds Adding a Mobile Broadband plan - The highest throughput speed achievable with mobile data services is "Best Case" and reflects optimal conditions typical of mobile broadband services. Given the inherent variability in mobile data networks, accurately forecasting speeds is not possible. Specific data speeds aren't guaranteed by mobile networks, hence we cannot ensure consistent attainment of particular speeds. Your chosen Telephone and Broadband package comes with a monthly usage/data limit, which you must not surpass. We'll send you email notifications as you approach this limit. Should you exceed the threshold, we'll reach out to you via email or text messages. In such instances, we may automatically enforce appropriate restrictions on your data service. All our packages are in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. ^^Bundle allowance and Data Caps When you add a mobile data plan to your SIM card, the renewal date will always be based on the date the plan was first activated.
For example, if your plan is activated on the 15th of the month, it will renew on the 15th of every month thereafter. This ensures your data usage is billed consistently and makes it easy to keep track of your plan. Once your data limit is reached, the data service will automatically pause until the start of the next billing cycle. You will also receive an email alert when you reach 90% of your data allowance. This suspension cannot be bypassed unless you purchase an out-of-bundle data top-up.
Your data allowance is valid within the UK and includes 25% of the allowance for roaming in EU Zone 1. Data packages are capped, and once your allowance is used up, the service will be disabled until the next billing cycle. If you wish to remove a data plan, we require 30 days’ notice. Numbering & Porting your home number/s During setup, you will receive a standard mobile number for billing purposes. Home2Phone accounts can hold multiple numbers, but only one can be set as the default outgoing Caller Line Identification (CLI). Porting your existing home number is free across all packages, but only from providers with whom Simple Telecoms has a direct porting agreement. Non-geographic number porting is not currently available. Number porting typically takes around 10 working days, while adding a new telephone number to your Home2Phone service can be done within 24 hours Access to Emergency Services The Home2Phone service complies with Ofcom regulations and supports calls to emergency services. Once activated, 999/112 calls are routed via national emergency call handling agents, who may not be located near the caller’s area code. The CLI presented will always reflect the user’s designated default CLI. Emergency calls are carried over the EE mobile network, and operators may verify the caller’s address using the National Database. It is the user’s responsibility to keep their address details up to date. While emergency calls will display the default Home2Phone CLI, the service may not be available in all situations due to mobile network limitations, such as:
- During a mobile operator service outage, which could result from a power failure, cell site malfunction, or lack of mobile coverage.
- Additionally, it is important for end users to understand that emergency personnel may need to confirm both their identity and location when they make a call.
International and Premium rate numbers - Block numbers outbound To safeguard all our customers, call barring for International and Premium rate numbers starting 09, 118 and some 08 numbers will be applied automatically to the Home2Phone line. Please note - Due to Ofcom directive classifying certain (not all) 08 numbers as premium rate, you will still be unable to call some 08 numbers as they are now classed as Premium rate numbers, premium rate barring cannot be removed, unlike the international call barring, which can be removed. This change is due to issues we experienced with non-digital and incompatible handsets and answer machines, which often caused problems for our support teams and led end users to mistakenly believe the router or service was faulty. Customers are welcome to purchase a Geemarc CL2000 from a third party. We will be happy to provide the EE Home2Phone SIM card and arrange for your number to be moved over. Please note, however, that we cannot provide support for the router, confirm handset or answer machine compatibility, or assist with any call-related problems resulting from using a handset other than a Geemarc model. Can I buy the EE Home2Phone SIM only ? Yes, We are happy to provide the Home2Phone SIM card, which can be used in any 4G base router of your choice. Please note that we cannot support third-party routers or assist with their setup. Click here for a SIM only orderWhy is the an upfront cost ? We get asked this a lot. Contrary to most providers, who recover connection costs through long contracts and hidden fees, we operate differently. Many providers tie customers into 12, 18, or 24-month agreements, sometimes charging fees even after the contract ends if you disconnect or switch services. We keep it simple: we charge a clear, upfront activation, connection, or installation fee. This means no early termination or disconnection charges, no surprises, and full transparency, just a fair and straightforward service. I would like to hide the router away. But what about the handset connection ? We get asked this quite often. The Geemarc Liberty cordless handset paired with the Geemarc CL2000 4G router offers a simple, reliable home phone solution without a traditional landline. The Liberty handset connects independently to the router, so no base station or handset is needed, and the handset does not need to be near the router. This allows you to place the router where the mobile signal is strongest, while using the handset anywhere in your home. How is the router connected and installed ? The Home2Phone router is plug-and-play, meaning no engineer visit is required. The router is fully set up and tested before being shipped. Once you receive it, simply connect your telephone handset, power up the router, and you're online within minutes.
Please note, if you're transferring your telephone number to us, this process may take up to 10/20 working days. You will have a temporary number in the meantime, until your main home number has moved over. Can I run the Home2Phone on mobile phone as well ? Yes, however, you will need to have a separate monthly subscription. When a call comes in on your main landline number, both the home phone and the mobile phone will ring. However, you cannot transfer a call between the handsets. Can anyone have this service, or just Pensioners and Retired People ? NO, anyone can have the Home2Phone service, as long as you are over 18 years old, and pass security and credit checks. Will the service work outside the country ? You can take the router to 11 EU countries without incurring any roaming charges. For further details, please contact our customer service team at 0330 122 0000. Please note that additional roaming charges may apply, and a deposit could be required. How long to get started ? Once you click the "Request a Free Quote" button and fill out the online form, we'll provide you with a detailed cost breakdown. If you’re happy with the quote, just complete the direct debit form included in our email, and we’ll handle the rest. If you are getting a new number, this process usually takes about 48 hours, and your router/GSM phone and SIM will be delivered via DHL. Please note that transferring your landline number to your GSM phone/router takes approximately 10/20 working days to complete. We will provide you with an underline mobile number until your home number moves over. How much will it cost to port my home telephone number ?
Moving your home telephone number into the Home2Phone service is included in the setup and activation cost.
Please note that the number port is dependent on your current provider having a porting agreement in place and accepting our request to move the number. This will also determine the timing of when the port can take place
Can I move my telephone number to a different provider ? Yes, however, the provider you are moving to will be responsible for this process. Customers that have ported their telephone number out of the Home2Phone network to another provider will not be eligible for a free of charge port back to the Simple Telecoms network until the term of 36 months has passed from the original port out date, irrespective of any current or future offers being advertised in the press or Simple Telecoms websites. Should you wish to move your telephone number back to us within the 36-month period, there would be a cost to do so. Can I lift the barring of the International and Premium rate numbers ? To safeguard all our customers, call barring for International and Premium rate numbers starting 09, 118 and some 08 numbers will be applied automatically to the Home2Phone line. Please note - Due to Ofcom directive classifying certain (not all) 08 numbers as premium rate, you will still be unable to call some 08 numbers as they are now classed as Premium rate numbers, premium rate barring cannot be removed, unlike the international call barring, which can be removed from "Zone One" without a deposit. Ofcom directive classifying certain 08 numbers as premium rate in these charge bands, SC011, SC13, SC014, SC047, SC075, SC092, SC093. How reliable is the Home2Phone service ? Home2Phone operates solely over the EE mobile network. Although the service allows a GSM phone or a standard Geemarc Liberty telephone handset to be connected to a 4G router. However it remains a mobile-based solution and is not a like-for-like replacement for a fixed digital landline. If you have a Care Alarm we recommend opting for a fixed digital line or an independant GSM bases service. Click here for more informationHow long is the contract ? As with almost all our services, the contract is a 30-day rolling contract, with 30 days’ notice for disconnection. There is NO disconnection cost to pay. You will also lose your telephone number if you terminate the service without moving your telephone number to a new provider or service. What if I have a power cut ? Using the Home2Phone GSM phone or the 4G router means that a power outage won't impact your service - at least until your GSM phone or router runs out of battery. However, if you're relying on the router for WiFi calling (typically used in areas with poor coverage), this feature will stop working when the router goes offline. In such cases, your mobile phone should switch to the local cell tower for calls. However, if you have weak coverage, this may affect your service until your router is back online.
Other mains powerd equipment required to make calls will need to have an independent backup system.
Important Notice - Please note that we do not recommend relying on this service for use with a care alarm. Will my existing copper extensions still work ? No, although the service allows a digital telephone handset to be connected to a 4G router, it remains a mobile-based solution. It is therefore not a like-for-like replacement for a fixed digital landline, meaning any existing copper extensions will not work.
Information on Data usage - Home2Phone 4G Router ServiceStremming services like Netflix and IPTV According to Netflix guidelines, watching a TV show or movie in standard definition usually requires approximately 1GB of data per hour, while streaming in HD can use up to 3GB of data per hour. Like a mobile phone, the amount of data consumed depends on how you utilize the device. If you're continuously streaming radio programs or music, it will naturally consume more data compared to occasional questions or commands. However, sending and receiving voice packets isn't as data-intensive as video. For instance, streaming audio on Alexa typically uses up to 256Kbps, amounting to just over 100MB per hour. To reach a single GB of data, you'd need approximately 10 hours of music and commands.
Important information on The Home2Phone ServiceCare Alarms - Important information Maxcom MM39D This is a handset-only service. There is no ability to connect a care alarm or telecare device to this service.
CL2000 Router The router includes an internal battery backup that exceeds Ofcom’s requirement to maintain service for a minimum of one hour during a power outage.
Please note that any other mains-powered equipment, such as cordless handsets, telecare devices, or care alarms, will not receive power from the router. These devices will require their own independent battery backup or an alternative power source to continue operating during a power cut.
To ensure you can still make or receive calls during a power outage, we recommend keeping a corded telephone available that can be plugged directly into the router. This will allow continued access to the telephone service if cordless or mains-powered handsets do not have their own battery backup.
Power Backup at Mobile Masts / Mobile Network Resilience There is currently no Ofcom regulatory minimum requirement for how long mobile mast sites must maintain power during a power outage. As a result, mobile network availability during extended power cuts cannot be guaranteed.
